The information you requested - CAS-211532-W6Y4W2
Thank you for your request for information dated 10 September 2020 asking for information
about the upgrade of Glen Innes Station.
The Glen Innes station wil  play a part in the transport improvements to accommodate the
forecast growth in the Glen Innes/wider Tāmaki area as it intensifies.
Earlier this year the Apirana Ave pedestrian level crossing had an automatic gate installed to
address safety issues with people crossing the down mainline. This is the main entrance to
the station used by the majority of customers. The south crossing from Merton Road is
planned to be gated and is awaiting funding confirmation.
The images you refer to from the Greater Auckland blog are images created by Kāinga Ora
and are their aspirations for future train station improvements. Auckland Transport wil  need
to work through the assessment and design process in order to confirm the design and the
infrastructure staging required over the coming decades.
The project wil  need to be considered for funding and prioritised against other project
proposals as part of the forthcoming 2021 Regional Land Transport Plan, which wil  be
released for consultation early next year.
Should you believe that we have not responded appropriately to your request, you are able
to make a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman in accordance with section 27(3) of the
LGOIMA Act, and seek an investigation and review in regard to this matter.
Yours sincerely
