Recommendation
That the Transport Committee receive DC7 Transportation Projects
January 2019 Monitoring Report.
Summary of issue
Tauranga City is continuing to experience growth and pressure on the
transport network. The Government Policy Statement gives strong
direction on how transport capacity should be provided and managed.
Dealing with the impact of these factors on the transportation network is
a significant issue for Council. This report enables Elected Members to
monitor progress on key transportation projects.
Broader benefit / Elected Members are informed of the progress on key transportation
impact
projects being undertaken.
Strategic context
These key transportation projects facilitate improved network
performance and safety.
Next steps
Council will continue to progress the projects and works identified.
Discussion
1.
Tauranga City is continuing to experience growth and also needs to respond to the direction
of the Government Policy Statement. Managing the impacts on the transportation network
is a significant challenge for Council.

The attached report (Appendix A) outlines progress being made in relation to a number of
projects that are necessary to facilitate improvements to network performance and safety.
