Official Information Act Request 7 September 2020 – IR-01-20-27819
On 7 September 2020 under section 14(b) (i) of the Official Information Act part
of your request has been transferred from The Treasury to Police for response,
you requested the following information:
…the amount to the NZ treasury by virtual of money approved in … vote police
that has been used in the security and transport of the March 2019 offender”
Police response to your request.
Information about Police costs associated with the security operation surrounding
the sentencing of Brenton Tarrant has been refused pursuant to section 18(d) of
the Official Information Act 1982 on the grounds that it wil soon be available via a
pro-active public release. Once we have the confirmed date that the information
will be publicly available, you wil be advised.
Please note that the NZ Corrections are responsible for any costs associated with
the transport of the offender so the Police response will not address and transport
costs.
You have the right, under section 28 (3) of the Official Information Act, to ask the
Ombudsman to review my decision if you are not satisfied with the way I have
responded to your request.
