“I am seeking information about the current technical specifications of the "CovidCard"
device. Specifically the battery capacity (in mAh), model numbers of any Bluetooth chips,
microcontrollers, and SOCs (system-on-chip), and the maximum distance between a pair
of CovidCard devices that wil be recognised as a "contact event".”
The Ministry of Health does not hold any information relating to your request; however, I have
been advised that this information is more closely connected with the functions of the
Department of Internal Affairs. For this reason, I have decided to transfer your request to the
Department of Internal Affairs under section 14 of the Act. You can expect a response from their
agency in due course.
Under section 28(3) of the Act you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision
to transfer your request.
