Dear Chris Smith

Transfer of your request for official information to the Department of Internal Affairs

Thank you for your request to the Ministry of Health under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) on 17 July 2020 for:

“I refer to this RNZ article dated 17 July 2020

2fnews%2fpolitical%2f421414%2ftrade-me-founder-keen-for-bluetooth-covidcard-
alternative-to-tracing-app
In which, it is detailed that "CovidCard" delivered a report to health officials about their
product and trials.
"Six weeks ago, the team delivered a report to officials following field trials, but are yet to
be given any indication of a decision."
I would like to request a copy of that report.
Additionally, if not documented in that report, I would like to request information held about
the CovidCard device as trialed, and proposed specifications of a production model.
Specifically, information surrounding its form factor and battery life.”

I have been advised that the information you have requested is more aligned with the functions
of the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA). For this reason, I have decided to transfer your
request to DIA under section 14 of the Act. You can expect a response from DIA in due course.

Under section 28(3) of the Act you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision
to transfer your request.

Yours sincerely
