Of icial information request regarding the Democracy Project
I refer to your requests for information under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act) dated 15 July
2020:
1. a copy of any proposal documents held by the university leading to the establishment of the
project
2. a copy of all correspondence relating to the proposal, any information held about negotiations in
relation to the proposal, and the information held about acceptance of the final proposal
3. any information relating to the costs incurred by the university, including hosting, insurance, etc,
and
4. a copy of any contracts that may exist in relation to the project.
Please find attached the University’s response to your above-mentioned requests.
We have withheld some information under the following sections of the Act:
• 9(2)(a) protect the privacy of natural persons
• 9(2)(h) maintain legal professional privilege, and
• 9(2)(b)(ii) protect information where the making available of information would likely
unreasonably to prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied or who is the
subject of the information.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
