Thank you for your email of 7 July 2020 to the Ministry of Education requesting the following
information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
Please provide copies of all Memorandum of Understanding (MOU’s) signed in the last
five years related to the sharing of data to organisations outside your organisation.
The Act requires that you are advised of the decision on your request no later than 20 working
days after the day we received the request.
We have collated the relevant information and we are at the initial stages of considering the
information and consulting with the other parties involved. By nature each MOU has been
developed with at least one other party so consultation needs to be undertaken on all of the
information in scope of your request.
As a result of this, unfortunately it wil not be possible to meet the original time limit under the
Act and we are therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make the decision
on your request pursuant to section 15A(1)(b) of the Act, to 22 September 2020. We will try to
respond to you sooner than this date if at all possible.
