Cattle at Regional Parks 
I refer to your request, which we received on 02 July 2020, regarding the cattle at Auckland 
Council's regional parks.  
Our response to your questions is as follows: 
Could I please have an updated list of the June 2020 cattle audit for Auckland 
Council's regional parks  
Please find attached Council’s latest annual audit: 
• Record of all cattle owned by Auckland Council 2020
• 2020 cattle audit – total number of cattle
May I have a list of cattle missing/dead from each park as well, please. 
A stock audit to identify the missing or dead cattle has not been completed for all 
parks.  Accordingly, we are supplying the information we have for Atiu Creek and Te Rau 
Puriri only. Please refer to attachment 3 and 4. 
Could I also have the NAIT account/movement summaries for each regional park. 
Please refer to the attached NAIT movements summary 1 November 2019 to 30 June 2020. 
Could I please have the breeding information, sorted by animal ID, including their 
birth date, their breed composition and their parentage information for cattle currently 
owned by Auckland Council, as well as all cattle bred from and born at regional parks 
since 2009. 
We do not artificially inseminate our cattle, as a result, a significant number of animals are 
registered with no or incomplete pedigree data and uncertain ancestral breed origin.  
Therefore, in accordance with section 17(e) of the Local Government Official Information and 
Meetings Act 1987, the information you have requested cannot be provided to you on the 
basis that it does not exist or despite reasonable efforts to locate it cannot be found.

However, we have provided information on bull Estimated Breeding Value (EBV). Please 
refer to attachment 6 – Bull EBV’s 
 
Should you believe Auckland Council has not responded appropriately to your request you 
have the right to seek a review of the decision from the Ombudsman.
