Partial transfer of your request for official information 
 
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) on 28 June 2020 
for: 
 
“1. Please provide a list of every Hotel or other facility that has been or is currently being 
used by the Government as a Managed Isolation Facility in New Zealand. Please also 
provide information about the number of people who have stayed in each facility since 
March 25th 2020. 
 
2. The current cost occurred so far for each facility, in regards to room cost, food etc. 
Please also provide the estimated cost per person to stay in a Managed Isolation Facility.” 
 
I have been advised part one of your request is more closely connected with the functions of the 
Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). For this reason, I have decided to 
transfer this part of your request to DPMC under section 14 of the Act. You can expect a 
response from DPMC in due course.   
 
You can expect a response from the Ministry of Health in relation to part two of your request in 
due course. 
 
Under section 28(3) of the Act you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision 
to transfer your request.
