Dear Albert,
Please find the following answers to your Official Information Act request(s) of 27 June 2020
regarding data for the papers: HUBS 191; PHSI 191; CHEM 191; and CELS 191.
You asked for
the mean raw final percentage (without the +5 percentage increase), the standard
deviation of the raw final percentage, and the total number of the cohort within each paper and a
mathematical model of the statistics, in terms of an approximate mathematical equation.
I have taken your request to be for data for the first semester of 2020. Regarding your request for a
mathematical model of the statistics, the University of Otago does not hold a mathematical equation
for this data and therefore this part of the request is refused pursuant to section 18(g)(i) of the
Official Information Act. I advise of your right to seek review of this decision via complaint to an
Ombudsman.
Semester 1, 2020, results - marks adjusted to remove the +5 increase applied due to COVID-19
exam conditions.
