Ref: DOIA 2021-0069
Dear Erin Zheng,
Thank you for your email of 6 July 2020 requesting under the Official Information Act 1982 (the OIA), the
following information:
“How many priority SMC applications were allocated to a case officer during June 2020?”
Our Response
During the month of June 2020, 670 priority skilled residence applications were allocated to a case officer.
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) does not have a specific Skilled Migrant Category (SMC) queue but one for
skilled residence applications. Skilled residence applications include two categories, the SMC and
Residence from Work (RFW) category that are both processed in the Manukau office. The applications are
not split into two separate queues based on the application category but are separated based on whether
the application meets the priority criteria as described in Immigration instructions at A16.1.
If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request or this response, please contact Lautalie Leausa Vaa,
Senior Business Advisor, Operations Support, Immigration New Zealand at
[email address].
Yours sincerely,
Nicola Hogg
