Thank you for your information request dated
14 May 2020.
You asked for the following
information:
“Over the past three years:
a) How many Maori women (and what percentage of the total number of
applicants) applied for Tier 2 roles or above?
b) How many Maori women (and what percentage of the total number of
successful applicants) were successfully appointed to the jobs which they applied
for at Tier 2 or above?”
Your request has been considered in accordance with the Of icial Information Act 1982.
As the State Service Commission is responsible for the appointments of Public Service
Chief Executive roles, I am advised they will respond in relation to Tier 1 roles.
With regard to the remainder of your request, Te Puni Kōkiri does not record the ethnicity
of job applicants. We do ask for the ethnicity of those who accept an offer of employment,
but because we do not ask this information of all applicants, we cannot analyse the data
in the way you have requested.
