I refer to your email received by my office on 29 April 2020, in which you requested the following 
information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
All Official Information Act requests received by the Office of Minister of Immigration Hon. Iain Lees-
Galloway in the 2019 calendar year. 
 
May I please request that that list preferably be presented in a table, and answer the 
following; 
 
i) The date the request was received, 
 
i ) What the request or question was, 
 
i i) If the request was accepted or rejected, 
 
iv) If rejected, on what grounds was it rejected, 
 
v) or if accepted, the date on which the request was fulfil ed. 
 
I do not require any information regarding the requestees, and understand that some 
requests may have elements of them redacted in order to protect the privacy of the 
requestee or other persons. 
 
Attached is an extract from my office’s official information request spreadsheet.  I have provided the 
information in this manner in reliance on s16(2)(a) of the Act.  This extract covers off the majority of 
your information requests above.   
 
Please note the following: 
•  My reply to requests i, ii and v are set out in the attached table; 
•  With regard to request ii, you will appreciate that the specific details of each official 
information request are complex and the release of this information may be sensitive to 
requestors.  Some requests covered multiple portfolios, not just Immigration. I am declining 
to provide the specific detail of each request under section 18(f) of the Act because it would 
require substantial collation and research; 
•  I partially decline your requests iii and iv under section 18(f) of the Act due to substantial 
research and collation.  The attached table shows when my response to each request was 
made (or in some cases, transferred to another Minister’s Office or agency).   While I am not 
providing you with a ful  accounting of what redactions were made to each request, it would 
be very unusual to not redact at least some information (such as personal details), and 
unusual to fully refuse a request.
