The  total  number  of  PGY1  house  officer’s  positions advertised  solely  for  NZREX  graduates 
(2014 - 2020).  
a.  Please break down the data by year (e.g., 2014 = XX, 2015 = XX, etc.)

Could you please provide me with the total number of hired doctors by year (2014 - 2019)? 
 
As  context  for  this  response,  Counties  Manukau  Health  (CM  Health)  provides  health  and  support 
services  to people  living in the  Counties  Manukau region (approx. 569,400 people). Our services  are 
delivered via hospital, outpatient/ ambulatory and community-based models of care.   
 
  Question 1 – The total number of PGY1 house officer’s positions advertised solely for NZREX 
graduates (2014 - 2020). Please break down the data by year (e.g., 2014 = XX, 2015 = XX, etc.) 
 
Across the three Auckland metro DHBs, recruitment into RMO positions is not done on an individual DHB 
basis.  Advertising for positions is regional, and PGY1 house officer positions are not advertised solely for 
NZREX graduates.

We have interpreted this request as related to RMO PGY1 recruitment.  
Table 2 provides the number of PGY1 House Officers hired by CM Health and who came through the ACE 
system from 2014 to 2019.

specified.  In  some  cases,  there  will  have  been  multiple  doctors  recruited  to  the  same  role  over  the 
time period. The most up-to-date workforce data for CM Health is in the Annual Reports - in June 2019 
our  total  medical  workforce  head-count  was  1,595.  Further  information  on  our  workforce  profile,
