Re: Redevelopment Assessment Report , Takapuna
I refer to your email, which we received on 24 December 2019, requesting any and
all economic and environmental assessment reports produced by Auckland Tourism,
Events and Economic Development Limited (ATEED), regarding the redevelopment
of Takapuna Market, since and including 2015 to the present day.
ATEED does not hold any economic and environmental assessment reports
regarding the redevelopment of Takapuna Market.
Your request is therefore refused under Section 17(e) of the LGOIMA as the
documents alleged to contain the information requested do not exist.
ATEED’s Local Economic Development team works with local boards around the
region. An annual work programme is agreed in consultation with each local board.
The kind of economic analysis report mentioned in this request is not something
ATEED would undertake unless requested by another part of Council or a local
board. If any such requested report involves commissioning an independent expert,
the local board would fund that.
ATEED has not received a request from any third party for a report analysing
Takapuna’s market.
Decisions about this response to your request were made by a senior ATEED
manager acting with delegated authority of the Chief Executive.

Should you believe Auckland Council has not responded appropriately to your
request, you have the right by way of complaint, under section 27(3) of the LGOIMA,
to apply to the Ombudsman to seek an investigation and review of the decision.
