Extending the time to respond to your request made under the Official Information Act
1982
Thank you for your email of 17 December 2019 to the Ministry of Transport requesting the
following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
‘Please provide copies of all communications or documents that relate to the funding of,
or sequencing of projects comprising the Urban Cycleways Programme in Auckland that
have involved the either the minister of transport or any associate minister or officials in
their offices.
Where it exists please include communications from officials at NZTA or local
government agencies or from any other person / organisation subject to the provisions
of the Offical Information Act.
Please include documents from the 26th October 2017 until todays date’
Your request was transferred to Waka Kotahi, the NZ Transport Agency, on 7 January 2020.
Waka Kotahi is extending the 20 working days available to us to respond to your request. This is
allowed for under section 15A of the Act. We need 15 more working days to respond to your
request. We will send you our response on or before 6 March 2020.
We are extending the deadline because you have requested a large quantity of information. It
will take us more than 20 working days to locate, collate and copy this information.
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to
extend the time we will take to respond to your request. You can find the contact details for the
