Thank you for your request on 12 December 2019 to the Ministry of Education for the following 
information: 
 
•  In the early 1990s, the Ministry organised a survey that determined the ownership of 
school pools throughout New Zealand (possibly ownership of all school property?). I 
believe it may have been carried out by Beca. 
 
Please provide a copy of the resulting report. 
 
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).  
 
We have conducted a broad search within our central records and Archives New Zealand. We 
received several large boxes of information, broadly related to pool infrastructure between 
1980 and 2000, and considered these mid-January. 
 
However, due to the ambiguity of your request and the historical nature of the information you 
have requested, we are unable, at this time to locate a document that meets your description.  
 
We are therefore refusing your request under section 18(e) of the Act, as the document alleged 
to contain the information requested does not exist or, despite reasonable efforts to locate it, 
cannot be found. 
 
If you are able to provide further guidance, we encourage you to lodge a new request.
