Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) Request
We refer to your information request dated 4 December 2019. A copy of your request is
set out below:
I am writing to request the following information:
1. A list of all CCTV camera locations that are owned OR operated by the Otago Regional
Council in the Dunedin area.
2. A list of all camera locations used for Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)
within Dunedin.
I have been informed of the following in response to your questions:
The Otago Regional Council (ORC) either owns or operates CCTV cameras at the
following locations:
1. Dunedin Bus Hub, Great King St Dunedin; and
2. Otago Regional Council Offices, 70 Stafford St and Phillip Laing House,
Dunedin.
The ORC does not use Automatic Number Plate Recognition in its CCTV systems.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
response. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
