[FYI request #11429 email] Dear Mr Tipton,
Official Information Act request #19.068 - Retail Fuel Market Study - request for sales data
1.
We refer to your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request received on 23 October
2019 for information about our retail fuel market study. You have asked for the daily
sales data, aggregated by geographic region, referred to in Appendix F at paragraphs
F23 through F43 of our draft report.1
2.
The original date by which the Commission must make a decision on your request is
21 November 2019, being 20 working days from our receipt of the request.
3.
The Commission can in certain circumstances extend the time limit for deciding a
request for information (section 15A(1) of the OIA).
4.
The Commission will be extending the deadline to make a decision on your request
to
12 December 2019.
5.
The reason for the Commission’s extension of time is that consultations are
necessary to make a decision on your request, such that a proper response cannot
reasonably be made within the original time limit (section 15A(1)(b) of the OIA).
6.
If you are not satisfied with the Commission’s decision to extend the time for its
decision on your request, section 28(3) of the OIA provides you with the right to ask
the Ombudsman to investigate and review this decision. However, we would
welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns with you first.
