various transport and urban design projects
I am writing in response to your request made on 7 September 2019 asking for the status on various
transport and urban design projects. Please find below the responses to your questions raised.
Q.
The 'peanut shaped' roundabout at the intersection of Forbury Rd and Bay View Rd.
A.
Construction is expected between 2022 and 2024 dependant on funding.
Q.
The cycleway link along the rail corridor, between the railway station and the Wickliffe St
shared path

Construction is expected to commence this financial year.
Q.
Cycle connections along Duke St, Howe St, Dundas St, St David St, Albany St and Hanover St

cycleways)
A.
These cycle connections were removed from the current DCC project. The connector
intersections were included in the NZTA cycle ways project. NZTA have required us to
complete a review of the strategic cycle network in 2021 and the connections wil be revisited
then.

The Bond St and Water St shared space

This project wil be developed further through the central city plan works proposed to take
place in 2022.
