Dear Ms Enderby
We refer to your Official Information Act request to the Department of Conservation
dated 4 July 2019. Y ou requested the following:
What brands and model numbers of radio or GPS tracking devices do you use for
kiwi. How many of these do you have. How many are currently in the field on
kiwi. How many have been on the same bird for more than 3 years.
We require an additional 15 working days to respond to this part of your request and
have decided to make the necessary extension under section 15A of the Official
Information Act 1982. We will send you a response no later than 22 August 2019, or
earlier if possible.
The extension of time is necessary as the consultations necessary to make a decision
on the request mean that a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit.
Y ou have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
decision. Information about how you can make a complaint is available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
Y ours sincerely
Amber Bill
