QLDC wastewater discharge, consent breaches 2015-2019

Mark Wilson made this Official Information request to Otago Regional Council

The request was successful.

From: Mark Wilson

Dear Otago Regional Council,

The Queenstown Lakes District Council breached its consent limits for various contaminants in relation to waste water discharge into the Shotover River 175 times between July 2011 and September 2014.

Can you please supply a detailed summary of the number of consent breaches by the QLDC for waste water discharge into the Shotover River for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and to date for 2019?

Yours faithfully,

Mark Wilson

Dear Peter Kelliher,

Hi Peter how is this progressing?

Surely this is information that's readily available? Given consents such as this are monitored, I would hope anyway? This information has been reported in the past.

Can you please update me on the progress as the time delay here seems unnecessary for the information requested.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Wilson

Hi Mark,

I apologise again for the delay in responding to your request. The process has taken longer due to a processing oversight on my part and due to the request period covering three separate resource consents for the Shotover plant.

We are compiling the data as a priority and expect to have it to you by the end of this week.

Kind regards,

James
