Dear New Zealand Police,

I would like to request under the Official Information Act some information regarding the remuneration of your employees.

Firstly, I would like to request any remuneration policy or guidelines, if you have one.

Secondly, I would like to request some statistics on the amount of pay your employees get, in bands of $10,000, broken down by number of years that employees have been in the workforce, and by what job or rank employees have. If pay is varied based on the location employees are posted to, can I please have this information broken down by location.

Although not necessary under the Act, I understand that providing the purpose of a request sometimes helps narrow down exactly what information to release. As such, the purpose of this request is to see what the expected payrate of a police officer could potentially climb to given years of service, particular job responsibilities and rank, and location.

Thank you,

Joshua Grainger

Dear Brendan and Teresa,

I am just emailing to say thank you for a very informative, fast, and detailed response. It is much appreciated: I have a friend who is looking at becoming a police officer and I believe this information will help them.

Yours sincerely,

Joshua Grainger

Dear Teresa,

Actually, sorry, one thing. The letter from Brendan Keys states that the New Zealand Police remuneration policy is attached, but it doesn't appear to be attached to your last email. Can I please be sent this policy? And again, thank you very much for your help.

Yours sincerely,

Joshua Grainger
