2012 Change Proposal Voting Details
Joshua Grainger made this Official Information Act request to University of Canterbury
The request was successful.
From: Joshua Grainger
31 May 2012
Dear University of Canterbury,
I would like to request under the Official Information Act the
details of how each member of the University Council voted on the
change proposals (the proposed changes to the American Studies,
Cultural Studies, Theatre and Film studies programmes, and the
operations research course within the management science programme)
discussed during the Council meeting on the 30th of May, 2012. I
understand there were multiple votes, and so I wish to have the
breakdown of who voted what (including abstentions) by each vote.
I would note that the Official Information Act applies to
information that only exists in people's heads rather than being
written down, so I would ask that you do not decline my request due
to not recording who voted what in the minutes of a meeting (as
appears to be the practice from looking at previous Council
minutes).
Feel free to contact me if you want me to clarify my request. I
would appreciate an acknowledgement that you have received my
request.
Yours faithfully,
Joshua Grainger
